Since our launch in 2015, we have certainly evolved!  While Voluntary Benefits was the core of what we built our business around, today we support our clients and partners far beyond this suite of employee benefits products & services.

As you’ll see, our new look showcases all of the many ways we support our clients—from product and vendor selection, engagement strategy solutions, and technology integrations to broker evaluations and Request For Proposal (RFP) services.

Where are you located?

We’re located in Atlanta, Georgia and provide services to companies all over the United States.

What are your fees or splits when Activ8 is hired for a project?

When working in partnership with a broker/consultant on a project, we are paid an override/general agency fee by the carrier or the vendor with whom products or programs are placed.  The broker/consultant’s fee nor commissions are impacted.

When hired by an employer for a broker/consultant RFP project, there is a project fee determined by the scope and the proposed length of the project.  While uncommon, employers are given the option to hire Activ8 Benefits Consulting on a retainer fee basis.  If Activ8 is hired for a benefits review and analysis, a nominal fee only applies if suggested benefit modifications are not executed or program enhancements are not implemented. Will Activ8 remain involved with the client throughout the year?

It is always Activ8’s intent for our relationship with our clients to remain “evergreen”.  With the client’s permission, it is our goal to remain visible throughout the year versus only at open enrollment.  We recognize the complexities and the benefits illiteracy that exists regardless of the most well-intended communications. We’ll make recommendations to clients on the frequency and types of communication, but will work  with the client to ensure the right balance for their organization. What is Activ8’s role beyond when an employer decides to replace the broker/consultant who hired you?

An organization can always choose to continue working with Activ8, however, all parties must be in agreement on the roles that each will play going forward.

Does Activ8 have any preferred vendor partners or any vendor restrictions?

Activ8 is independently owned, and does not have any equity partners. We have no venture capital obligations, and we are not affiliated with a larger corporation, which allows us full autonomy and the ability to remain objective when it comes to evaluating the best and highest quality partner vendors for our clients.  We are truly business agnostic.

What size employers and in which industries does Activ8 specialize in?

When partnering with brokers/consultants, we have been hired to execute project work on companies of all sizes (small, mid, and large) and within various industries.  We operate as an extension of the broker/consultant’s team in an effort to support their clients, and therefore their teams support the ongoing day-to-day benefits and client management needs.  Activ8’s target market for direct clients would be groups under 500 employees, but have worked with clients from 3 employees to 3000.  We have found that employers in the ~500 employee segment need the most guidance and have the fewest internal and broker/consultant resources available to them.
